What started out as a side-project for a client has now grown into a global business and the largest 3D visualization platform in the world. Today, Cylindo announced that it has raised a new round of funding. Nordic Makers joined as an investor, and their co-founder Lars Fløe will join Cylindo as Chairman of the Board.
“For people in retail, it’s clear we’re moving from a 2D to a 3D era and we’re excited to spearhead this transformation, ultimately helping retailers and brands thrive by utilizing visualization technology. In a digital-driven world, where customers make informed buying decisions and expect instant gratification, immersive product visualization features like 360 spin, product configuration, and AR have become table stakes. We’ve built a platform that enables retailers to visualize all their product configurations in 3D at scale and easily leverage visuals for omnichannel use cases” - Janus Jagd, CEO at Cylindo.
If you’re one of the 28% of consumers that buy furniture online, you’ve probably used Cylindo’s software to view and configure products. The 3D technology platform serves more than 100M unique consumers annually and powers product visualization for global brands like Ethan Allen, Knoll and SofaCompany.
“As more and more purchases and purchase decisions take place online, I see a need for better visualization and merchandising solutions. Cylindo has great traction and an impressive vision for extending their platform to enable this.” - says Ben Holmes, former General Partner at Index Ventures, who also invested in the round.
The company more than doubled their SaaS revenue last year and according to Cylindo’s CEO, Janus Jagd, the new investment will be used to do more of the same—investing in technology and revenue growth.
Lars Fløe, former CDO and Co-founder of Danish unicorn, Sitecore, is joining as Chairman of the board at Cylindo and adds that: “Cylindo has an exceptional and dedicated team that is using cutting edge technology to execute on their vision for a new platform. Nordic Makers want to be part of the continued success, and we believe we will help fuel the growth even further.”
“We’re extremely pleased with the investment from Nordic Makers—they were our top pick among investors as they bring decades of operating experience from 3D, SaaS, and eCommerce which are essentially the three pillars Cylindo is built on,'' says Janus Jagd.
